The Amazing Sewing Machine Stitch Eraser

October 23, 2019

I don’t know about you, but I look at
my sewing machine as just this machine of wonder. EXCEPT I don’t think it’s so wonderful when I
have to pick out my stitches so I went to my super smart son-in-law, he’s
an engineer you know, and I said “Jerry there’s got to be something a person
can do so you don’t have to pick out your stitches.” And he came up with this
great new app. Yes Alex, so I developed this app that only requires a smartphone a usb cable a sewing machine with a usb
port and all you have to do is download my app plug in the cord and the app will track your stitches for
you so in cases when you do screw up
you can just Undo it It’s that easy! I simply went to the app store on my
smartphone and I found the Jerry Stitch Eraser. So I’m all set to go. and then I’m going to take this usb and I’m going to plug it in to the usb
port on my sewing machine the port right there If you don’t like what you’ve done on
the machine, I’m not crazy about this pattern, or your quarter-inch isn’t
just right. You simply hit the button on the app and your machine will unstitch or “Stitch Erase” thanks to Jerry. All on its own. (Smartphone voice) “Stitch Erase On” And if that isn’t enough Jerry has something in beta testing that
he said I can share with you. You can stitch a design like the one I just did
and it will tell you whether it works or not for your quilt It’s Awesome! (Smartphone talking) “Oh My Goodness, Alex” that looks terrible. Do you want to erase that? You definitely should.” “How do you expect to get into Paducah with those stitches?” “I suggest you go to and work on your quilting skills.”

Yea-a-a-a-a-ah! I presumed it to be pulling my leg–it is a very long leg. Interesting, the one sewing did not follow the outline of the stitch stitched. Easy to erase that which is not there! So, she will have to continue picking, and then wonder how to get the holes out of the fabric left by those needle punches. Get a woman to devise the next one. Men are out to lunch when it comes to sewing–no appstitude!

If this video is for real then Alex needs to explain how the machine will "erase" the stitches. What exactly happens to the threads, top and bottom. Will the thread mysteriously go back onto the spool. I have a hard time imagining that happening correctly. Please do another video and explain further in much more detail, please.

  • Reply LindaLu Cord April 11, 2013 at 1:06 am

This seems to be a cruel joke.

  • Reply beegirl1247 April 12, 2013 at 3:26 am

    Good one Alex!! Looovvveeed it!!!

  • Reply Christopher Nejman April 13, 2013 at 2:18 am

LOL.. Someone sent this link to me on FB. She was all over this with excitement. This was VERY well done, and for the NON mechanical people, they would all fall for it. You and your son in law are great, the joke was perfect!!

  • Reply sewspeppy April 13, 2013 at 11:33 pm

Okay so where is this app? Available for Android? Please respond, we need to know. Thanks.

  • Reply MrsKKrueger April 14, 2013 at 2:44 pm

I stumbled across this and was like WHAT?!?! Where are the holes?! OMG!!! Then, I had my hubby watch it!!! Bahahahaha!!! Thanks for the laugh!!! For the ones that are getting upset, and making rude angry comments, COME ON!!! This is a funny way to break the tension of Frog sewing!!! Rip it, Rip it, Rip it!!! Hehee!!!

  • Reply KCQuilting April 15, 2013 at 4:39 pm

HAHAHAHA!!! I figured out it was joke as soon as I saw the "un-stitching" take place. I knew it was just showing us the film in reverse. Too funny! Had a good chuckle!!

  • Reply Debbie Kelly April 15, 2013 at 11:51 pm

Hmm glad I watched to the end boy I thought I could not believe he didnt cash in on that one .

  • Reply Enzo Furrari April 16, 2013 at 6:25 am

I knew it was going to be some kind of joke. But it is a good one, I'll give that! People should laugh more often. Nice sewing machine BTW.

  • Reply Christina Bachini May 19, 2013 at 6:21 am

When I saw this first I was amazed at the genius idea until I realised the threads seemed to disappear and that seemed too good to be true. I told a friend about it and spent ages looking for the app, until I realised it must be an April Fools joke. But you had me for a while.

    if only this was true!

  • Reply Rita Jensen April 18, 2014 at 1:14 pm

What would be cool is if there was an app, that we could plug into our machine and then stitch a quilt design and it would re-sew by its self…over and over without buying a $20,000 machine

  • Reply MsMazzariti July 12, 2014 at 1:23 am

OMG …just as well I watched this to the end. I was totally taken in!Β

I'm still waiting for the Catwoman sewing machine, you just feed the fabric in, push a button and out the other side comes the completed, dress, skirt, quilt or whatever you are making.

Honestly, who wouldn't want a stitch easer app, but I sure didn't appreciate watching this, getting excited about it, then spending time trying to find it in the App Store.

  • Reply MariaColon879 April 16, 2018 at 12:21 am

You didn't fool me. The first thing I noticed is that you are using a Bernina machine and you can't use anything on that machine that is not approved by Bernina! Hahaha!
